Ready to Race?
Please bring the following items with you so we can get you checked in as quickly as possible on race day.

* USA Cycling License & Photo ID - Our races are permitted and organized in accordance with the USA Cycling rules -  You can buy an annual racing license which covers you in all USA Cycling races and expires on December 31 of the year you purchased it. OR beginner category riders (category 5 for men, category 4 for women) can go one race at a time with one-day licenses, which cost $15 each. These can be purchased through the USA Cycling online registration system or on-site at the race.  If you have an international racing license please bring it with you.  Unfortunately, we can not issue a one day license if you have ever held an annual license with a category higher than (cat 5 for men and cat 4 for women).

* GPS Chip or $5 to Rent One -  The Savannah Wheelmen are proud to use the My Laps timing system at all of our timed events.  The timing chips allows us to gather the more accurate results and take your racing to the next level.  If you already have your own chip please bring it and the chip number with you (we need to enter the chip number into our system, this is often found on the back or side of your chip & check the battery).  If you do not own a chip don't worry, we have them for rent.  For $5 we provide a rental chip for the race, zip ties to secure the chip and tools to cut the zip ties when you are done.  We also ask that you be prepared to leave a drivers license, race license or credit card as collateral during the rental period.

* Registration - You can register online or in person on race day, we will ask you to sign a waiver in person on race day regardless of registration method.  For your convenience we accept cash, checks and credit cards on-site.

Helmet -  All riders are required to wear a proper secured helmet when on a bicycle in the event area, the only exception to this rule is when using a trainer for warm-up.

* Bikes - All bikes must have working front and back brakes, aero-bars will need to be removed for mass start events.

* Jerseys -A jersey must be worn in all races and needs to cover the shoulders (no sleeveless jerseys).

* Club Race Kits -  We ask that you only wear the kit of the Club you are a licensed member of for the current season ( Jan 1 - Dec 31). Licensed riders must register with a club and USA Cycling before they are eligible to present themselves as a member of that club. This includes, but is not limited to wearing a club’s jersey or entering a race as a member of the club.

*Wheel Pit Instructions - Replacement wheels can be placed in the designated "wheel pit" area in criterium races (GA tech campus) only, replacement wheels are not allowed for circuit races (Hutchinson island) or time trials, replacement wheels can be placed in the follow vehicle for road races.  In order to use a replacement wheel, the wheel must be placed in the designated "wheel pit" area before the start of the race and are unfortunately not transferable between riders.
